CHESHIRE- Ruth Marie Bockley, 90, passed away, Saturday, October 21, 2017, the day after her 90th birthday, at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford. She was predeceased by her husband Dr. William Bockley in 2005 after 44 years of marriage.
Mrs. Bockley was born October 20, 1927 in Boston, MA daughter of the late Charles and Amelia (Haddad) Elias.
Ruth was a Census Taker for the United States Census Department prior to her retirement. She was a volunteer at both Masonicare and St. Raphael’s Hospital, and participated in numerous cancer and hunger walks.
Mrs. Bockley is survived by her three sons William Bockley III of Hamden, Karl and his wife Elly Bockley of Sherman, and Frank St. Elmo and his companion Lynn Neves of Winchendon, MA; her daughter Linda Grant of Athol, MA; and several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Arrangements- A private graveside service for Ruth will be held at the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown, and there are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410, is assisting the family with arrangements.
