NAUGATUCK ?? Margaret L. Russell, 77, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, February 2, 2015. She was the loving wife of James R. Russell.
Born on April 12, 1937, in New Haven, Conn., she was one of eleven children of the late Frank and Margaret (Guarine) Nuzzo.
Margaret loved working in the garden planting her flowers. She will be missed deeply by her dog, Ben, who knows she is gone but will never forget her. She couldn?t have a good day until she read her morning paper. When the weather was warm she would ask Jim to take her to the gazebo to read her paper, which would start her day off. She loved family gatherings to remind her and Jim what a great family they had, especially her nieces Sally and Barbara and sister-in-law Carol ?? I will always cherish the special times we had together. Lucille - I know you will be with me forever you are my angel.
An animal lover, Margaret enjoyed going on cruises, going on trips in their camper and had been a member of the V.F.W. Post No. 1946 Ladies Auxiliary in Naugatuck. A devoted grandmother, she most enjoyed time spent having fun with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Jim, of Naugatuck, she is survived by her three sons, Raymond D. Ericson and wife, Lucille, of Northfield, Stephen F. Ericson and wife, Dawn, of Woodbury, and Glenn E. Ericson and wife, Tina, of Wolcott; a daughter, Kristin S. DeCarlo; four sisters, Anna Mleczsko, Christina Schiavone, Jessie Altiere and Marie Moore; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She also leaves many nieces and nephews to whom she was a special aunt.
Margaret was predeceased by six brothers and sisters, Alexander Nuzzo, Peter Nuzzo, Millie Manzo, Louise Saccu, Julia Corso and Antionette Saccu; and a granddaughter.
The funeral services for Margaret will be private. The Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck has been entrusted with the arrangements.
