MERIDEN - Russell W. Linsley, 85, beloved husband for 64 years to the late Helen (Hausman) Linsley, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Yale-New Haven Hospital Saint Raphael Campus. Russell was born on February 24, 1937 in New Haven, CT, son of the late Merwin and Anna (Borneman) Linsley. He was a retired executive for IBM Corporation.

He served for his country on the USS Hunt in the late 50s and enjoyed attending every Naval reunion no matter where in the country it was being held. Russell had many interests; he enjoyed tennis, fishing and hunting but more importantly traveling the world with his wife Helen (Penny). He was an active member in the Elks and served as the Exulted Ruler, Chaplain and Lecturing Knight in NY Lodges. He was a member of the Masons and President of the Sphinx Shriners Arabian Club and a good standing member of the American Legion.   

Russell leaves behind his daughter, Robin Linsley-Biagetti and her husband, Richard Biagetti, and his son, Eric Linsley and his wife, Alison. He will also be missed by his loving grandchildren: Ryan Biagetti and Sabrina and Nicolas Linsley. Russell is also survived by his brother Merwin. In addition to his parents, Russell was predeceased by his son, Russell (Rusty) Linsley and siblings, Hurby, Ernie, Alberta, Dorothy, Ruthy and Art. He will be missed by family and friends.

Arrangements: A funeral service in celebration of Russell's life will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 11AM at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 59 Main Street in Cheshire, with burial to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. There are no calling hours and the Alderson­-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements.
