NAUGATUCK - Mrs. Maria Gloria (Rebimbas) Ruela, age 79, of Naugatuck, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at Saint Mary's Hospital. She was the wife of David T. Ruela.

Mrs. Ruela was born in Murtosa, Portugal on Aug. 19, 1933, a daughter of the late Francisco Tavares Rebimbas and the late Maria Ceu Soares. She was retired from Waterbury Neckwear where she had worked for many years and was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Waterbury. She was a truly loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and taking care of her grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Ruela is survived by a son, Frank Ruela and his wife, Julia, of Naugatuck; three grandchildren, Natalie Ruela, Frank Ruela and David Ruela, all of Naugatuck; three brothers, Francisco Rebimbas, Joaquim Rebimbas and Diamantino Rebimbas, all of Naugatuck; a sister, Luisa Oliveira of Naugatuck; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at 9:15 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck, to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin St., Waterbury, for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m.
