Roseamond Dunn

WALLINGFORD - Rosamond Zehder Dunn, age 93, formally of Masonic Health Care, Wallingford, died September 20, 2013 at the Masonic Health Care Center after a brief illness. She was the widow of Joseph E. Dunn.

Mrs. Dunn was born in New York City on October 23, 1919 and was the daughter of the late Henry J. and Martha Koehler Zehder. A resident of Scarsdale, New York until 1984 where she was a special education teacher at Westchester County Medical Center until she retired and moved to Wallingford, Connecticut. While in Wallingford she worked for Bishop Company and was a substitute teacher in the Wallingford School system.

She leaves three daughters, Suzanne Dunn Krieg of Cheshire, Connecticut, Kathleen Dunn Solomon of Thousand Oaks California and Maryann Dunn Flynn of Lake Carmel, New York. She also leaves a son, Joseph E. Dunn Jr. of Croton-on-Hudson, New York. Eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survive her. A sister, Beatrice Zehder Heddericg, and a grandson Ian Michael Krieg predeceased her.

A private memorial service will be held at a time convenient to the family. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be held Rose Hills Memorial Park, Putnam Valley, New York. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ian Michael Krieg Memorial Scholarship, Quinnipiac University, Development Office, 275 Mt. Carmel Ave., Hamden, CT. 06518. Alderson Funeral Home, Cheshire, Connecticut is assisting with the arrangements.
