Earle Root Jr

Beacon Falls, CT Earle Cameron Root Jr, age 70 of Beacon Falls, entered into peaceful rest on March 27, 2024 at Complete Care at Glendale in Naugatuck, after a short battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends in the weeks before his passing as they reminisced over memories.

Earle was born on October 11, 1953 in Derby, CT a son of the late Earle Cameron and Margaret (Pelley) Root. He was raised in Bethany, where he graduated from Amity Regional High School. Earle was retired from DonhamCraft Inc. / Unimetal Surface Finishing in Naugatuck / Thomaston where he was employed as a quality assurance manager and a customer liaison representative. Earle loved fishing and trivia nights with his family and the Finellis. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking, crossword puzzles and crocheting. Earle was a big fan of the NY Yankees and the New England Patriots.


Earle leaves his loving family, including his children, Margaret Best and her husband, Bob of VA, Heather Capozziello and her husband, Joseph of Beacon Falls, with whom he resided, Beau Green of Naugatuck, Nicole Finelli and her husband, John of CT and Cheyenne Root and her fiancé, Aj Lee of FL; his siblings Dena Forbes and her husband, Les of Wallingford, Jane Raccio of Naugatuck, David Root and his wife, Eloisa of Ansonia, Mathew Root and his wife, Maggie of Ansonia and Roy Pipher of Wallingford; his grandchildren, Bobby, Christine and Jason Best, Wyatt and Anya Capozziello, Hailee Green, Callie Lee and Grayson Finelli. Along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his sister, Estelle Daum.

Memorial service will be held 9:00am Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 91 Church Street, Seymour. Funeral services in Celebration of Earle’s life will follow at 10:00am with interment to follow at Northwest Cemetery, Woodbridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to honor Earle may be sent to Trinity Episcopal Church, 91 Church Street, Seymour, CT 06483.
