NAUGATUCK- Mr. Ronald Thomas Watson, 83 of Naugatuck, passed away early Tuesday morning April 29, 2014 at the Waterbury Hospital.

Ron was born in Webster, Mass., October 9, 1931, a son of the late Thomas and Ethel (Doust) Watson and moved to Hanover, N.H. with his family. He was a graduate of Hanover High School and received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served during the Korean War. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Conn. Veterans Service Medal

He retired from Uniroyal-Footwear Div. when the plant closed and then worked for the Harvey Hubbell Co. and later became an over the road long hall truck driver for Ryder Truck Services. He was a communicant of St. Michael's Episcopal Church where he was active in many of the church committees, served as a member of the Vestry, was a Lay Reader, and Minister of the Eucharist, bringing communion on a regular basis to elderly shut-ins and those in area Nursing Homes.

He was a member of Shepherd-Salem Lodge # 78, A.F. & A.M. and enjoyed Motorcycling and off road cycling and fishing with many of his friends.

He leaves his good friends, Michael and Anna Lineweber of Middlebury and Pamela Harris of Kansas City, MO and his Godchild, Michelle Lineweber, and Rachel Lineweber of Las Vegas, NV.

A Memorial Eucharist will be held at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Naugatuck at a date and time to be announced. Burial will be in Southford Cemetery, Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make memorial contributions to St. Michael's Episcopal Church, 210 Church St., Naugatuck 06770-4120. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home Of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is assisting with all arrangements.
