Ronald Alan Northrop, 57 of Cheshire passed after a brief and sudden illness on Sunday, January 4th 2015 surrounded by his family and friends.
Ronnie was born March 30, 1957 and was a life-long resident of Cheshire. He was well known for his vast skills, one who could master anything he put his mind to. He was creative, imaginative, clever and witty. He loved a good conversation as much as a good debate. He adored children and making them laugh – he will be greatly missed by his adopted nephews and nieces. Ron loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking at Sleeping Giant State Park. Additionally he was an avid bicycle rider and motorcycle enthusiast. Always inquisitive and possessing significant knowledge on a wide variety of topics combined with superior problem solving skills he was often referred to as “ Macquiver”. Ron possessed a phenomenal memory. Always a prankster he loved playing a good joke on almost anyone. Baking was one of his passions and he took great pride in having mastered making cheesecake. Ron was very giving of his time and talents, was gracious and lighthearted; he was one who could always be counted on to help a friend. He loved to read, loved books, was a history buff and had a life- long thirst for learning. Most recently was studying physics. Whatever he did he did to perfection and whoever he met always enjoyed his company.
Ron is survived by his sister and her husband, Pam and Rich Kaczer of Cheshire, his brother Richard also of Cheshire, close friends the Stopkoski family (Steve, Mary, Stevenjohn, Ronald and Eleanor) and his companion Cynthia Robertson of Cheshire and her sons and their wives and children Chris and Nancy Robertson, their children Jamie, Jeff and Kelly; Nick and Lisa Robertson and their daughters Michaela and Georgia all of Southington as well as his family at Danjon Manufacturing.
