Ronald J. "Ron" Ostuno

Ronald J. “Ron” Ostuno, age 70, of Cheshire entered into rest on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Bristol Hospital. He was born on October 2, 1950 in Waterbury, son of the late Domenic and Frances (Aliano) Ostuno.

Ron worked as a farmer in Cheshire and in Tisbury, Martha’s Vineyard, where he owned and operated his vegetable stand, “The Italian Scallion” that was frequented by many well-known celebrities that lived on the island. Ron was funny, he had a quick witted sense of humor and marched to his own drum, he will be remembered as being a “free bird”.

He is the beloved father of Dustin Roberts of Morris; and he also leaves his loving siblings, Janet von Staats of Cheshire, Sonny Ostuno of Cheshire, Kim Jarjura of Cheshire and Lori Mossberg of Hamden; his stepsister-Christine Aliano of Cheshire; his step-mother, Helen Larock of Cheshire; his cherished nieces and nephews, Jessica (Chris) Abildgaard, Jeffrey (Krista) Ostuno, John Locus, Michael, Katie and Anna Jarjura, and Tara, Carly and Alanna Mossberg; and his great-nieces and great nephews, Madelyn, Leah, Jared, Dominic, Dillon, Todd and Ryan. He was predeceased by his good friend and brother-in-law, Fred Jarjura.

Friends may greet Ron’s family at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 So. Main St., Cheshire, CT 06410 on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 5PM until 7PM and on Friday, June 4, 2021 from 8:30AM to 9:15AM. At 9:15AM his funeral procession will leave the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10AM in St. Bridget of Sweden Parish/St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St., Cheshire. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family.
