Ronald F. Brightman

Ronald F. Brightman, age 83, of Cheshire entered into rest on Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, FL. He was the devoted and loving husband of Sandra (Pietrusewicz) Brightman. Ronald was born in Waterbury on September 30, 1934, son of the late Ronald and Elizabeth (Cantito) Brightman.

Ron served his country with honor and pride with the US Marine Corps and was a self-made entrepreneur, having owned and operated successful car dealerships in both Torrington and Waterbury. He was a well-liked, strong, kind and generous man who always did what he could to help others. He appreciated antique cars and was fond of NASCAR.

Ron is survived by his sons, Ronald Brightman of MA and Rick Brightman and his girlfriend, Kathy Litke of Waterbury; his daughter, Deborah Ellis and her husband, Louis of Middletown; his cherished 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and several loving cousins. He was predeceased by his former wife, Lois (Cummings) Brightman.

Friends may greet Ron’s family at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 So. Main Street, Cheshire, CT 06410 on Monday, June 18, 2018 from 4PM to 7PM. On Tuesday, June 19, 2018, his funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:15AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11AM in St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St., Cheshire.
