WATERBURY - Roland J. Fortier, 73, formerly of Naugatuck, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Lynn A. (Harper) Fortier.
Mr. Fortier was born October 28, 1944 in Waterbury, the son of the late Emile J. and Mariette (Bolduc) Fortier. He was raised in Waterbury graduating from Croft High School class of 1964. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and had been employed at Waterbury Hospital for many years. He was an active member of several Masonic organizations such as Wolcott Lodge #146 A.F. & A.M. and the Laurel Court #8 Order of Amaranth in New Britain.
Besides his wife of 48 years, Mr. Fortier is survived by his children Scott and his wife Christina of Naugatuck, Joseph of Naugatuck and Penny Laudate and her husband Dominic of Prospect; his brothers David of Waterbury, Mark of NC, and Tom of CA; his sister Doris of CA; three grandchildren Dominic Laudate, Gillian Fortier and Hunter Laudate as well as several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements – A graveside service will be held on Thursday December 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. at New Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury. There are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck is assisting with arrangements.
