NAUGATUCK- Roger A. Schroeder Jr., 60, passed away Thursday January 16, 2014 at Wolcott View Manor.
He was born April 11, 1953 son of the late Roger A. Sr. and Mary (Mitnick) Schroeder.
Roger was employed by the State of Connecticut at Fairfield Hills Hospital, and Southbury Training School where he retired.
He then moved to Key West, FL to spend time with his brother Joe. Roger worked at the Bourbon Street Pub, and the Hampton Inn in Florida until returning home to Connecticut. Roger touched so many people's lives. Where ever he happened to be, he would reach out to people and try to get a smile or a laugh. Among his many enjoyments was time spent at the beach, gardening, and caring for his pets. Before his passing he fought a courageous battle against Diabetes.
He is survived by two Brothers Michael Schroeder of Naugatuck and Joseph Schroeder of Key West, FL; two Sisters Mary Schroeder of Naugatuck, and Laura Schroeder-Miller of Daytona Beach, FL; two nieces Elizabeth Schroeder and her children Daniel, Brianna, and Cristofer, and Mandy Schroeder and her children Eliviah, and Madelynn. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Schroeder.
Arrangements- Roger's funeral will be held 9:15 A.M Thursday January 30, 2014 from the Mulville Funeral Home, 270 West Main Street, Waterbury, 06702 and proceed to St. John's Episcopal Church, 16 Church St, Waterbury, CT 06702 for a funeral service at 10 A.M. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday January 29, 2014 from 5 to 8 P.M at the funeral home.
