Maria Rodrigues

Naugatuck, CT Maria Emilia Bernardo Rodrigues, 93, widow of Abel Rodrigues, died peacefully on May 31, 2023 at Waterbury Hospital.

Maria was born May 1, 1930 in Lousa, Portugal daughter of the late Manuel and Maria de Encarnacao Bernardo. Maria worked for many years as a seamstress, was a former member of the Clube Uniao Portuguesa Ladies Auxiliary and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church.

Maria is survived by her daughter, Linda Anctil and her husband, Richard of Harwinton, CT; her sons, Paulo Antonio Rodrigues and his wife, Roberta of Watertown, CT and Jose Carlos Rodrigues of Naugatuck, CT; her 3 grandchildren, Michael and David Anctil and Gustavo Xara; her 2 brothers, Albano and Laurindo Bernardo and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin Street, Waterbury. Everyone attending is kindly asked to please meet directly at church. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Calling hours are Monday from 5-7 pm at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck.
