Abel Rodrigues

Naugatuck-Mr. Abel Rodrigues, 81, of 148 Lewis St., husband of Maria Emilia ( Bernardo ) Rodrigues, died Saturday June 26, at home surrounded by his loving family after a long illness.

Mr. Rodrigues was born on September 24, 1928 in Lousa, Portugal , a son of the late Jose and Anna (Dejesus) Rodrigues. He was a retired cabinet maker for Les Care Kitchens in Waterbury for many years. He also worked at Uniroyal, Inc. and Scovill Mfg. He was a member of the Portuguese Club of Naugatuick and a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Waterbury.

Besides his wife Maria Emilia, he is survived by a daughter, Linda Marlene Anctil and her husband Richard of Thomaston.Two sons, Paulo Antonio Rodrigues and his wife Roberta of Waterbury and Jose Carlos Rodrigues of Naugatuck. One brother, Antonio Oliveira and his wife Deolinda of Naugatuck.Three grandchildren Michael and David Anctil and Gustavo Rodrigues. Several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Aurora Almeida of Naugatuck.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 AM from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave, Naugatuck to Our Lady of Fatima Church for a Mass at 10 AM Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 P.M. .
