Robert Weaver

Stamford - Robert A. Weaver, 82, of Rose St., passed away Friday March 27, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. He was the husband of the late Gladys (Mansell) Weaver.

Mr. Weaver was born December 8, 1926 in Stamford the son of the late William G. and Helen (Burdick) Weaver. He was raised in Stamford and was an Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a long time Grand Union employee retiring in the early 1990's.

Mr. Weaver is survived by his son Robert and his wife Michele of Naugatuck; his daughter Janet Mello and her husband Ken of Naugatuck; his brothers Russell B. Weaver of Albany, OR and John D. Weaver of Bulfton, SC; his sister Doris Grauel of Monroe; his three grandchildren David, Kerri and Brian; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother William.

Arrangements ' A graveside service will be held on Thursday April 2, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Woodland Cemetery in Stamford. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is in charge of arrangements. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation of CT, 2139 Silas Dean Highway, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
