CHESHIRE – Robert A. Sireno, 88, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Marbridge Assisted Living & Memory Care in Cheshire. He was the husband of Barbara (Mohn-Palmquist) Sireno.
Mr. Sireno was born September 28, 1936, in Danbury, CT., son of the late Rocco and Alice (Henderson) Sireno. He served his country with honor and pride in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Sireno was employed as a printer throughout his life and owned a printing shop in Meriden. In addition, he also worked with the AmeriCorp's CT Prison Association Re- Entry Program. For over 35 years he volunteered with the Thresholds Program and the People Empowering People Program working with inmates in Connecticut prisons. He was a retired ordained deacon with the Episcopal Church for 24 years.
In addition to his wife of 43 years, Mr. Sireno leaves behind his sons, Scott Sireno and David Sireno and his daughter, Debra (Sireno) Doll and her husband Joseph. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Doll) Kopylec, Emily Doll and Cassandra (Doll) Slivinski and 2 great- grandchildren Carson Kopylec and Brayden Kopylec. He will also be missed by Heather and Matthew LaSelle and their children Kamilah, Karmyn and Audrey. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sireno was predeceased by a brother, Peter D. Sireno.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Marbridge for the loving care they provided him with while he was a resident.
Services for Mr. Sireno will be held on Thursday December 26, 2024 at 10am at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 59 Main Street, Cheshire. Burial will be held in St. Peter’s memorial garden. There are no calling hours and the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in Robert’s name, can be made to The Greater Waterbury Interfaith Ministries, Inc.
