Robert W. Scarpa, 86, of Cheshire, passed away Tuesday May 2, 2023, at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Beverly (Iassogna) Scarpa. The couple would have celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary in June.
Bob was born June 18, 1936, in Waterbury, a son of the late Eugene L. and Angela (Beece) Scarpa, Sr. and graduated from Webster Grammar School. He also graduated from Horace C. Wilcox Technical School in Meriden with a certification for Tool and Die. Bob worked as a mold maker at several area businesses before becoming the owner and operator of Homar Molds and Models in Waterbury in 1970. Bob and Bev settled in Naugatuck to raise their family before moving to Cheshire in 1980. Bob had many hobbies including caring for Shetland and Hackney Show Ponies. When not working at his shop, he spent his free time outdoors caring for his property.
Bob was very outgoing, greeting everyone with a big smile. He loved spending time with family and friends and was always willing to help repair anything for others.
Besides his loving wife, Beverly, he leaves his son, Robert W. Scarpa, Jr. and his wife Susan of New York City, his daughter, Debra Scarpa Malinowski and her husband Stan of Southington, his brother, Patrick R. Scarpa and his wife Noemi of Middlebury, several aunts and nieces, a nephew, and many cousins.
