Robert Roland 'Bob' Varsell

Robert R. “Bob” Varsell, age 80, of Cheshire, CT entered into rest on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was the devoted husband of Margaret “Peggy” (Beane) Varsell for over 57 years. Bob was born on March 24, 1935 in New Britain, CT; son of the late Roland and Helen (Erickson) Varsell, and was a Cheshire resident for over 55 years.

Bob graduated from Hall High School in West Hartford, CT and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. He worked for 50 years in the aerospace industry retiring in 2008.

He is the beloved father of Craig Varsell and his wife Cindy of Burlington, CT; Lynn Varsell of Cheshire and loving grandfather of Eric and Amy Varsell. Bob is survived by his sister, Linda Smith and her husband Courtland of Corvallis, OR; and his sister-in-law, Sandy Varsell of Bristol, CT. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Varsell.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of his family. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire has been entrusted with Bob’s arrangements. At the request of his family, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Franciscan Home and Hospice Care, 267 Finch Avenue, Meriden, CT 06451.
