Robert McHugh

Mr. Robert D. McHugh, 84 of Oakville passed away Wednesday February 3, 2010 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of the late Louise E. (Conti) McHugh.

Mr. McHugh was born October 21, 1925 in Waterbury a son of the late John H. and Louise (Miller) McHugh. He was educated in Waterbury schools and was a graduate of Crosby High School. He was an insurance salesman for Metropolitan Life retiring after many years of service. He was a US Army veteran of WWII serving in Company K of the 9th Infantry. Mr. McHugh was a member of Saint George's Episcopal Church in Middlebury.

He is survived by his brother-in-law Lawrence Conti of Oakville and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Fred McHugh, Raymond McHugh and John H. McHugh, Jr. and his sister Louise Myers.

Funeral services for Mr. McHugh will be held Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Saint George's Episcopal Church Tucker Hill Road in Middlebury. Friends are asked to meet directly at Church. Burial with military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury 9 Holmes Avenue has care of arrangements.
