Robert M. Ide

Robert M. Ide, 75, of Cheshire, formerly of Hamden, beloved husband of Susan Ide, passed away on August 28, 2024. He was born in New Haven, CT to the late Simon and Anna Ide.

Robert graduated from Hamden High and SCSC. He was an avid tennis player and golfer. He loved going to Disney World with his grandchildren whenever they visited in Florida. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Viet Nam for three years.

Besides his wife, Susan, he leaves behind his daughters, Stephanie (John) McGow, Amanda (Patrick) Hunt and five adoring grandchildren – Aiden, Landon, Arabella, Grayson and Avery. Also, a brother, Marvin Ide (Jennifer) of Durham, CT and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Alan Ide.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11:15 AM at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home, 615 South Main St., Cheshire, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will follow at St. Bridget Cemetery, Higgins Road, Cheshire, CT.
