NAUGATUCK- Mr. Robert K. Hart, 82, of Naugatuck, passed away Wednesday Sept. 1, 2010 at the Glendale Center.
Mr. Hart was born in Waterbury, May 21, 1928, a son of the late DeForest and Ivy (King) Hart and was a Naugatuck resident all of his life. He was educated in the local school system and was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Navy. He served aboard the USS Furse (DDS 882) and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and Navy Occupation Service Medal. He was a former employee of the Bristol Co. where he had worked for over 21 years, later working a short time for the Scovill Mfg. Co. He later worked for the Region 15 School system, having worked at Pomperaug High School and also Rochambeau Middle School, prior to his retirement.
He was a communicant of St. Michael's Episcopal Church and had been a member of the choir for over 60 years, and had been active with the Village Green Fair at the church. He was a member of Crusader Post 1946 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He leaves his daughter, Tracy K. Hart of Naugatuck; one brother, James Hart and his wife Mary of Cheshire; one sister, Judith Passeck and her husband Rheinhold of Southbury and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday Sept. 8, 2010 at 10 am at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, 210 Church St. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make memorial contributions to the charity of the donor's choice.
