WATERBURY- Robert F. Zwiebel, Jr., 82, passed way Thursday December 31, 2015 at Abbott Terrace Health Center. He was the widower of Shirley M. (Perry) (Martin) Zwiebel whom he was married to for 40 years.
Mr. Zwiebel was born May 12, 1933 in Waterbury son of the late Robert F. Sr. and Hazel (Miller) Zwiebel.
He was a graduate of Duggan Grammar School, and Leavenworth High School, and was Baptized and Confirmed at the First Lutheran Church in Waterbury. Robert served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a Machine Operator at Ideal Manufacturing prior to his retirement.
Mr. Zwiebel is survived by his son David Zwiebel of Ohio; three daughters Linda Oxier of Ohio, Beth Ann Tankersly of Ohio, and Bonnie Czeczot of Waterbury; his sister Joy and her husband Peter Judd of Biddeford, ME; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, many good friends as well, and his cat Albert. Robert was predeceased by his sons Robert F. III and Charles and their mother Catherine M (Hunt) Zwiebel, and his son Daniel Martin.
Arrangements- A Graveside Service with full Military Honors for Robert will be held 10:30 A.M, Saturday January 9, 2016 at Pine Grove Cemetery, 850 Meriden Road, Waterbury, 06705. Calling hours for Robert will be held the morning of the funeral from 9 A.M until the procession leaves for the cemetery, at The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave, 06710. Donations in his name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 38 Richards Ave, Norwalk, Connecticut 06854, or to a charity of one’s choice.
