Robert Board, Sr.

Robert Board, Sr., 84, of Prospect, formerly of Cheshire, passed away Tuesday November 23, 2021 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. He was the loving husband of Corinne (Beinhauer) Board with whom he shared 59 years of marriage.

Robert was born August 27, 1937 in Dallas, TX, a son of the late Thomas M. and Priscilla (Jones) Board and was a longtime Cheshire resident prior to moving to Prospect. He was a graduate of Xavier High School and Xavier University both in Cincinnati. Robert had worked as a salesman for Multigraphics retiring after 28 years of service. Robert devoted his spare time to working with people with disabilities and had served as President of both the Connecticut Traumatic Brain Injury Association as well as Futures, Inc. in New Britain. He was also a Communicant of St. Bridget of Sweden Parish in Cheshire.

Besides his wife Corinne, he leaves his sons, Robert Board, Jr. of Gurnee, IL, Gregory Board of Westborough, MA and Daniel Board of Cheshire, his daughter, Elizabeth Mullins of Plantsville, his sister, Patricia Wilson of Pittsburgh, PA and his grandchildren, Robert J. Board, Patrick J. Board, Timothy D. Board, Joshua L. Board, Jack R. Board, Alexis Mullins and Abigail Mullins. Robert was predeceased by his brother, Dr. Thomas M. Board.

Funeral services in celebration of Robert’s life will be held on Saturday December 4, 2021 at 9:15 a.m. from the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire 615 South Main Street to St. Bridget of Sweden Church 175 Main Street Cheshire for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday December 3, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Futures, Inc. 902 South Quaker Lane West Hartford, CT 06110 (www.futures-ct.org).
