Rita G. Osborne

Rita G. Osborne, age 98, previously of Wallingford and North Haven, CT as well as Charlestown, RI entered into rest on Friday, December 23, 2022 at Marbridge Assisted Living in Cheshire.  She was the devoted wife of the late William Charles Osborne for over 68 years until his passing in 2012.  Rita was born on December 4, 1924 in East Hartford, daughter of the late Alphonse and Claire Girouard.

Rita was raised in Hartford and attended local schools.  She met Charlie during WWII, while he was in the Navy and they were married in 1944.  They raised their family in Wallingford.  Rita and Charlie retired to Charlestown, RI, spending many years there with family and friends.  Time with family was most precious to Rita, and in 2019 she relocated to Cheshire to be closer.

Rita is the beloved mother of David William Osborne of Shelton; Kathleen A. Rockwell and her husband, Douglas of Cheshire; and Janet Claire Harris and her husband, Lester of Cheshire.  She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Gillian, Bryce, Renee, Karen, Brian and Thomas; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Vajra, Kailyn, Michael, Lachlann, Lauren, Matthew, Alexa, Emily, Cooper and Arianna.  She was predeceased by her grandson, Michael and all of her siblings.
