Richard Trevethan

Lakeland, FL Richard S. Trevethan, 75, formerly of Cheshire, CT passed away Friday evening at his home. He was the husband of Joyce (Ryal) Trevethan.Mr. Trevethan was born May 9, 1933 in Bristol, CT, the son of the late Frederick and Mabel (Stone) Trevethan. He was a Cheshire Academy and Crosby High School Graduate. He went on to earn his Engineering degree at the General Motors Institute in Michigan. He was employed by United Technologies.Mr. Trevethan was a member of the Cheshire Fire Department for over twenty years. During his many years with the fire department he held the position of Treasurer. He was a member of the Corvette Club of Florida.Besides his wife of 52 years, Mr. Trevethan is survived by his three sons Richard of Newington, CT, Thomas of Cheshire, CT , Robert of Palm Coast, FL; a daughter Judy of Northport, FL; a sister Jane Fruscella of Barefoot Bay, FL; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his daughter Karen. Arrangements Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 15, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Slater Funeral Home, 242 S. Main St., Cheshire, CT. Burial will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
