Richard Gibson

Mr. Richard Allen Gibson, 68, of Waterbury formerly of Danbury passed away Sunday April 5, 2009 at his home after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Luanne Joan (Van Nostrand) Gibson.

Mr. Gibson was born November 11, 1940 in the Bronx, New York a son of the late Harry and Margaret (Thompson) Gibson, Sr and has been a Waterbury resident for the past 19 years. He was educated in the Bronx and was a Plumber and Pipefitter for the Plumbers Union Local # 1 of New York retiring after many years of service. He enjoyed woodworking and cabinet making.

Besides his wife he leaves his son, David Allen Gibson of Thomaston, his granddaughter, Julia Denise Gibson also of Thomaston, his brother, Harry Gibson, Jr. of New Jersey and his niece, Barbara Sherwood also of New Jersey. He was predeceased by his sister Patricia Gibson.

Funeral services for Mr. Gibson will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck 201 Meadow Street. Burial will be at the convenience of his family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 12 noon until the time of the service.
