Richard Conrad

CHESHIRE - Richard W. Conrad 70, passed away on Monday May 17, 2010 at the Alzheimer's Resource Center of CT. He was the husband of Karen (Haller) Conrad.

Richard was born in Waterbury on January 23, 1940 and was the son of the late Harold and Dorothy (Traver) Conrad. He was a Retired Elementary School Principal for the New Milford and Wins ted schools and also taught at Chapman school in Cheshire. Richard attended Central Ct. and the University of Hartford in which he earned his Masters plus 6yr. certification in Administration Education. He was a member of the Cheshire United Methodist Church. Besides being a life long resident of Cheshire, he was a member of the Cheshire Community Theater, Cheshire Town Council and the Children's Theater of Cheshire and the Founder of Cheshire Arts Place. Richard enjoyed fine arts, musical theater and traveling.

Besides his wife of 46 years, he leaves his daughter Kristen Conrad-Drapeau and her husband Kevin of Holyoke, MA. and his grandson Michael Drapeau. Richard is predeceased by his daughter Karla Conrad.

Arrangements- Funeral services for Richard will be held on Friday May 21, 2010 at the Cheshire United Methodist Church 205 Academy Rd. at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5to8 pm at the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire 615 S. Main St. Burial will be in Wonx Spring Cemetery in Southington, CT. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Resource Center of CT.1261 S. Main St. Plantsville CT.06479.
