Gregory Mark Ranaudo, 70, died December 4th, 2021 at his residence in Oakville.
Born the 26th of May in 1951, he was the husband of the late Ilona Ranaudo (Mueller) for 40 years, and the son of the late Anthony & Anne Ranaudo. He was raised in Naugatuck and attended Naugatuck HS. He served in the National Guard for over 20 years, and spent his professional life between several companies: Perrault Spring & Equipment Co., Waterbury Rolling Mills as a Machinist, and most recently for Fusco Management at New Haven’s Superior Court as Building Supervisor, the latter from which he retired in 2016.
A member of the Waterbury Deep Sea Fishing Club, Greg’s passions included camping and clamming along the Rhode Island coast and Cape Cod. He had exceptional mechanical abilities; a reputable “Jack of all trades” on the home front, and was always helpful in this regard to anyone in need. He will be remembered as a kind and generous man, and as a friend who never forgot to call to say hello on birthdays and holidays.
Greg is survived by 2 daughters: Victoria & Elisabeth (Maki) and her husband Peter Maki, grandsons William, Cal, and Lyle Maki; brothers Patrick, Anthony, and Mark Ranaudo, sister Barbara Clancy; nephews Patrick, Jeffrey and David Ranaudo, and niece Rebecca Drake. Greg was predeceased by a third daughter, Krista, last year.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics, 2666 State Street, Suite 1, Hamden, CT 06517.
There will be a graveside service on Thursday, December 9th at 11am at Grove Cemetery in Naugatuck.
