Ralph Mozian, age 89, of Cheshire passed away after a long illness on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Elim Park Baptist Home. Ralph was born on July 27, 1927 in New York City, son of the late Martin and Sarah Mozian. He was the devoted husband of Alice Marie (Dempsey) Mozian for over 63 years, and with whom he shared a birthday.
He served his country with honor and pride with the US Navy in WWII. Using the GI Bill, he obtained a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Syracuse University in Industrial Engineering and was a Licensed Professional Engineer. Ralph, Alice and their family lived in Lancaster, PA where Ralph worked as an engineer for The Hamilton Watch Company, which later acquired Wallace Silversmiths. In 1969, the Mozian’s relocated to Cheshire, and Ralph continued on with the company as their Production and Inventory Control Manager. Ralph enjoyed bowling, winning many trophies, golf, jig saw puzzles, cards and chess, which he used to play by mail. Ralph also volunteered his time working the polls on election days at Chapman School.
Mr. Mozian is the beloved father of Alicia Mozian of Orange; Chris Mozian and his wife, Laurie of Southington and Greg Mozian and his wife, Sue of Basalt, CO. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Kristen and Nathan Mozian; and his brothers, John Mozian of Staunton, VA and Harry Mozian of Tampa, FL.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 10AM in St. Bridget Church, 175 Main Street, Cheshire, CT 06410. (Please meet directly at church.) Military Honors will be accorded following Mass. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family. Friends may greet Ralph’s family at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 So. Main Street, Cheshire, CT 06410 on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 6PM until 8PM.
