CHESHIRE- Ralph A. Edson, 88, passed away suddenly on Saturday May 19, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the loving husband of Jean (Coulter) Edson, to whom he was married for 61 years.
Mr. Edson was born December 22, 1929 in Oxford, MA. He was the son of the late, Ralph A. Edson Sr. and his wife Ruth (Newcomb) Edson. In addition to his wife Mr. Edson is survived by his son Greg and his wife Stephanie Edson of Waterbury; his daughter Cassie and her husband Rune Bergstrom of Norway; a sister Patricia Quinton of Virginia; five grandchildren Erik, Glenn, Ben, Josh, and Sam; and one great grandchild Aaron. He was predeceased by his sister Joy Edson Carle.
Ralph Edson was a veteran proudly serving in the United States Navy. He was the co-owner of Molded Electric Products (MEP) prior to his retirement. He was an avid collector, particularly of postcards. He also enjoyed landscape gardening and the many birds that were attracted to his yard.
Arrangements- A funeral service for Mr. Edson will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2018; 2 P.M. at The First Congregational Church of Cheshire, 111 Church Dr, 06410. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the church. There will be a graveside service at the church’s columbarium. There are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donation’s in Ralph’s name can be made to the Cheshire Historical Society, 43 Church Dr., Cheshire, CT 06410.
