Phyllis Arlene Budris, age 85, of Oxford entered into rest on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Hartford Hospital. She was the devoted wife to the love of her life, the late Charles G. Budris. Phyllis was born on February 16, 1932 in Oxford, daughter of the late Frederick and Katherine (Derry) Bice.

Phyllis was the beloved mother of Lynne Koehler and her husband, Richard of Southbury, Charles Budris Jr. of Woodbury, Lori Verrastro and her husband, Joseph of Seymour, the late Leslie Budris, Timothy Budris and his husband, Michael Lougee of Cheshire, and Thomas Budris and his wife, Linda of Oxford. She also leaves thirteen grandchildren, six great children, and a number of nieces and nephews who she loved dearly and as her own.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held August 26th at 2:00 PM at St. Peter’s Church in Oxford, 421 Oxford Rd. 06478. The burial will be private and at the convenience of her family. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Church. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire has been entrusted with her care. Phyllis was a school bus driver for Yellow Coach in Oxford, an employee at The Yankee Quilter, an amazing mother, and a lifelong parishioner of St. Peter’s Church. In her journey she touched the lives of so many people. If you ever had the opportunity to interact with her you would know that angels truly do walk among us. In loving memory of a very special person, rest in peace Phyllis, knowing the love you shared and gave so freely will continue to flourish.
