Philomena (Phyllis) Madden, age 101, entered into rest on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at the Elim Park Healthcare. She was the devoted wife of William Madden. Philomena was born on August 13, 1913 in Italy, daughter of the late Dominic and Mary Angela (Gervasi) D’Addio, and was a longtime resident of Naugatuck before coming to Cheshire.
Philomena worked for Uniroyal in Naugatuck for many years until her retirement. She had a fondness for yoga and was a yoga instructor later in life.
In addition to her husband William, Philomena is survived by her loving sisters, Jean Henderson of Waterbury and Doris Fox of Corona, CA; her brother in law Joseph Madden and his wife Ann of Cheshire; sisters in law Katherine D’Addio of Albany, NY, Ellen Flaherty and Barbara Madden both of Cheshire; nephew, James Henderson of Waterbury and many other cherished nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and Henry D’Addio; her sister, Florence Rynecki and her husband Bernie; nephew Mark Rynecki and her brother in law, James W. Henderson.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service for Philomena on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 11AM at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 So. Main Street, Cheshire, CT 06410. Her burial will be private and at the convenience of her family. There are no calling hours.
