Philomena 'Dolly' Maratea

CHESHIRE – Philomena “Dolly” Maratea, 96, passed away Wednesday August 3, 2016.

Dolly was born April 24, 1920 in New Haven, the daughter of the late Dominick and Fanny (Bush) Castaldo. She worked for 17 years at Gant in New Haven as a Presser and for Marshalls in Cheshire for 14 years. She was an avid Red Sox fan who loved watching games on tv. She was a wonderful, loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Dolly is survived by her children Anna Ferry and her husband Joseph of Cheshire, Ray Maratea and his wife Pat of S. Meriden; her six grandchildren Joseph and his wife Dee, Felicia, Diana and her husband Guido, Gregory and his wife Elizabeth, Gary and his wife Anne and Dean; five great grandchildren Allison, Mia, Emma, Blake and Vincent.

Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 6, 2016 10:30 a.m. from the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. to St. Thomas Becket Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas Becket Church 435 N. Brookvale Rd., Cheshire, CT 06410.
