NAUGATUCK – Edward T. Phair, Jr., 69, passed away on November 19, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the husband of Karla (Foulkrod) Phair for 33 years.

Ed was born on October 18, 1951, in Derby, Conn., son of the late Esther (Spiwak) Phair and Edward T. Phair, Sr.

He graduated from Derby High School and the National School of Broadcasting in Boston. Ed worked for the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation as a maintainer for 37 years. Ed was a huge sports fan with a passion for far too many teams to mention. He was a proud member of the BPO Elks Lodge 967 and enjoyed playing in the Twilight Softball League until 1987.

In addition to his loving wife, Karla, he is survived by his son, Kasey Phair; his son-in-law, Casey Purcell and his sister, Patricia Bishop (Bob) of Deltona, FL.

Walk-through calling hours will be on Tuesday from 4:00 - 7:00pm at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. Everyone attending is required to wear a facial covering and to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Funeral service and burial will be private. To Honor Ed’s memory, please dress casually – shorts and sneakers if possible. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
