Peter Nizich

CHESHIRE - Peter Nizich, 64, passed away Friday, January 1, 2016 at CT Hospice in Branford.

He was the husband of Cathie (Bulfin) Nizich.

Mr. Nizich was born April 24, 1951 in Queens, NY, the son of Muriel (Merle) Nizich and the late John Nizich. He attended West Point and graduated from CCNY in New York. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed other sports such as football, tennis and basketball. Peter was active in his children's youth, coaching both baseball and softball, and taught his daughter how to ski. He lived in Australia for several years where he worked for a software company, and also met his lovely wife, Cathie. Upon his return to the U.S., he established Visiting Nurses Services of Southern Connecticut, a home health care agency.

Besides his wife of 24 years and his mother of Queens, NY, Peter is survived by his children Alex Nizich of New York, Samantha Nizich of Cheshire, and Adam Nizich of Cheshire; his sister Diana Fletcher of Melville, NY; his brother Daniel Nizich of Bayside, NY; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 11 am at Cheshire Lutheran Church, 660 W. Main Street, Cheshire. Friends are asked to meet at the Church. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 4 to 8 PM at Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cheshire Lutheran Church.
