Lois Perrella
1957 – 2025

Waterbury, CT Lois Perrella, 67, long time resident of Waterbury, passed peacefully on February 4th at River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury where she resided since 2022. She previously resided at Central Group Home in Wolcott, CT. Lois grew up in the Brooklyn and then East sections of Waterbury. She also spent childhood summers at Lake Plymouth in our waterfront home.

Lois attended early childhood schools in Waterbury. She completed Kindergarten and then Special Education classes at Duggan School. She also has earned special ed program certificate at Croft HS. She moved on to WARC; where she got the opportunity to train & participate in the amazing Special Olympics Program. She competed in softball throw & broad jump events. She has a valued collection of ribbons & a gold medal. This program has raised public consciousness of the disabled: their potential & inspiring contribution to society & human values.

Lois has also won several bowling trophies. She loved to sing, dance & has performed on stage. She also loved putting together puzzles. She was an artist who created a portfolio of drawings & paintings, other varied media, including rug hook.

She is known by her circle of friends & family for her unique talents & abilities; for her for her humor, her sweet nature, and her empathy for others.

Among her strongest supporters have been her family & extended family members.
Lois’ parents took her on road trips – from Canada to Florida; and every Saturday to the CT shoreline. Lois has made many friends over the course of her life – from other members of her community, neighbors; teachers; & caregivers.

Lois leaves behind her two sisters, Karen Perrella of Waterbury, Pat Krukowski of Cheshire, two nieces, Kate Krukowski & Kara Krukowski, also of Cheshire, and several cousins. She is predeceased by her beloved mother, Vincenza Perrella & father,
Joseph Perrella - also by her brother in law, Joseph Krukowski; by cousins & several aunts & uncles.

Lois’ family wishes to express its deepest gratitude for the loving care she has received from former & recent care givers.

As we now feel the deepest sorrow for our loss; we also celebrate Lois’ well lived & well loved life. She has taught us about all that truly matters – and that is LOVE.

Burial service is private at the request of family. It will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury, February 10, at 11:00am.
We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made, in Lois’ honor, to the charity of your choice. Thank you.
