PELGRO, Claire M. (Atkins) of Tarpon Springs, Florida, formerly of Naugatuck, CT, died September 25, 2014. Wife of the late Samuel E. Pelgro, formerly of Naugatuck, CT. Beloved mother of Michael J. Pelgro and his wife, Elizabeth M. Pelgro, of Needham, MA. Sister of the late Helen Burrill and her husband William formerly of Braintree, MA; the late Mary Kavigian and her husband Charles formerly of Lexington, MA; the late Dorothy Siker and her husband Ted formerly of Wayne, NJ; and the late Henry Atkins and his wife Mary formerly of Chelsea, MA. Grandmother of Mike, Anthony, Joey, and Christina Pelgro and the aunt of many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, September 29, 2014 at St. Ignatius of Antioch Church, Tarpon Springs, Florida. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck, CT on Monday, October 13, 2014 at 1:00pm. Visiting hours were held on Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Dobies Funeral Home, 701 East Tarpon Avenue, Tarpon Springs, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations in Claire’s memory may be sent to the Council of Catholic Women at St. Ignatius of Antioch Church, 715 East Orange Street, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689. Local arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck, CT.
