Paul James Simisky Sr. son of the late John Anthony and Margaret Apolonia Simisky.
Survived by his wife of 62 years, Arlla Elizabeth (Gillespie) Simisky, daughters Margaret and her husband John Verret, Arlla (Betsy) and her husband Richard Kenefick Jr., Mary Siobhan and her husband John (Jack) Costello, Karim and her husband David Slifka, his sons Justin Simisky, David Simisky, James and his wife Carol Simisky, and Jonathan and his wife Julia Simisky. He is survived by sixteen grandchildren: Michael and Justin Verret, Paul III, Clifton, Jesse, Emily, Toby, Justine, Ryan, Alex, and Jayden Simisky, Richard III and Neil Kenefick, Jaime Cantarovici, Hannah and Hyla Costello. Three great grandchildren: Lola Mae, Harris and Alexandria Verret. Predeceased by his sons Paul Jr. (Scrapper) and Anthony (Toby) Simisky, his sisters Ann, Rose, Mary and his brother Edward. He also loved and considered as his children his wonderful daughter-in-law Diane Billings, her husband Mark and their children Alden and Tess, and his very dear friends Allisan, Rachel and Jason Adams.
Paul graduated from the college of the Holy Cross in 1946 and attended graduate school at Boston College.
He taught at Newton College of the Sacred Heart in Newton, Ma. where he instituted the first physics course at the college.
He taught chemistry and physics at East Windsor High School from 1958-1965. He taught those same subjects at Cheshire High School from 1966-1994 when he retired.
He was the starter for the boys and girls track events at CHS for more than 20 years, being involved in countless Housatonic League Track Championships.
He was an avid fly fisherman and golfer and was a volunteer at The Bradley Memorial Campus of the Hospital of Central Connecticut from 1994 until his death.
He was also active in St. Bridget Parish, where he worshipped since moving to Cheshire in 1955, and was active as a volunteer in many capacities.
Besides his friends and family, the love of his life was his cottage in Peru, MA in the Berkshire Hills.
He was beloved by his family, friends, students and the faculty of Cheshire High School. He will be deeply missed by everyone.

Arrangements- Funeral services for Paul will be celebrated on Friday November 13, 2009 at St. Bridget Church 175 Main St. Cheshire at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends are asked to go directly to church. Calling hours will be held on Thursday November 12, from 4 to 8 pm. At The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire 615 S.
