Paul R. Podesva, Jr.

BONITA SPRINGS, FL – It is with deep sadness that we announce Paul R. Podesva Jr., age 69 passed away after a long illness on March 28, 2025. A loving and devoted husband to Jan Podesva of 43 years.

Paul was born in Ballston Spa, NY on June 5, 1955, son of the late Paul Sr. and Grace Ferris Podesva. He was a graduate of Saratoga High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Siena College.

After school Paul started working in credit at International Harvester. This helped him launch his successful career at Colt Industries in Machine Tool Financing. He also had a love for Real Estate Investing and eventually started his own investment property business specializing in apartment buildings. He immensely enjoyed working with his Property Manager Rich Baker.

When not working, Paul loved boating on Long Island Sound with close friends Ed and Sandra Martin. He was a die-hard fan of the Yankees and Knicks. He adored his five Yorkies through the years who would not leave his side – Alex, Corky, Murphy, Nelly and surviving Katy.

In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his younger brother James and sister-in-law Michelle Lumley, nieces Jessica, Amy and nephew Mathew Podesva. Brother-in-law Mark and sister-in-law Betty Meadors, nephews Cristopher, Drew and niece Lauren Meadors. Sister-in-law Mary Sponable and niece Laura Podesva. Sister-in-law Donna Meadors. Paul was predeceased by brother Tom Podesva and brother-in-law Ryan Meadors, father and mother-in-laws James and Maureen Meadors.

ARRANGEMENTS – A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home, 615 South Main Street, Cheshire, CT. Donations can be made in Paul’s memory to the Moffitt Cancer Center,12902 USF Magnolia Drive, Tampa, FL 33612.
