NEW LONDON- Mr. Paul Goldfracht, 93, of New London passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at the Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London with his family by his side. He was the husband of Hadassah (Saffian) Goldfracht.
Mr. Goldfracht was born in New York, N.Y., May 31, 1919, a son of the late Louis and Helen (Weitz) Goldfracht and move to Waterbury where he resided for more than 20 years. He then moved to Cheshire where he lived for 11 years. He had resided in New London for the past 15 years. He was educated in the New York School system and was a graduate of college with a degree in Aviation Mechanics. He was the owner and President of Reliable Factory Supply Co. in Waterbury, retiring in 2000. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and a member of David Fanick Post, Jewish War Veterans.
Besides his wife of 63 years, he leaves two daughters, Fay Maxen and her husband Neal of Waterbury, and Michelle Wrubel and her husband Marc of Waterbury; 5 grandchildren, Heather Maxen, Dana Maxen, Sarah Lang, Mike Wrubel, and Matt Wrubel; 3 great-grandchildren, Willie Maxen, Kevin Maxen, and Tyler Goodson and one niece, Joan Goldfracht. He was predeceased by a sister, Philomena Kaufman and a brother, Isador Goldfracht.
A graveside service will be held on Monday Dec. 24, 2012 at 12 noon in Farband Cemetery, Rt. 109, Morris. The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. is assisting the family with the arrangements.
