Patricia L. “Pat” (Marcus) Denzel, age 70, of Naugatuck entered into rest on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at her home. She was the loving mother of Lynn Denzel. Patricia was born on October 23, 1945 in Bridgeport, daughter of Antonetta “Dora” (Sperandeo) Durham and the late Theodore Marcus, and was a Naugatuck resident for over 40 years.
Pat was an extremely dedicated mother; vigilant that her daughter received the best education and fair and equal treatment. She was a member of the Naugatuck Valley Community Church, her church family meant so much to her as did children; she would help with the children during service and Sunday school. She was especially proud to be a great-great aunt. Her family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all of the wonderful caregivers that became “part of the family” and provided Pat with the utmost care and compassion over the years; notably, Rosa Hurtado and Anita and Frank Finkle.
Pat is the beloved mother of Lynn Denzel of Naugatuck and daughter of Dora Durham of Florida. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Harvey of Stuyvesant, NY; her brother, David Marcus of Sarasota, FL; and many cherished nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and her special great-great nephews, Joseph and Kason Montanaro and Jace Harvey. She was predeceased by her former husband, Robert Denzel.
Services for Pat will be private and at the convenience of her family; in accordance with her wishes. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck has been entrusted with her arrangements. At the request of her family, memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics by going to www.specialolympics.org
