PLANTSVILLE - Patricia Ann Dorothy Concetta (LaRussa) Jahrstorfer, 68, was released from this earthly veil of tears on Friday April 6, 2012, to be with her King and Savior Jesus Christ. She was the faithful, fearless and committed wife of Carl Jahrstorfer and the mother of Laurie Ann Finn of Chesapeake, VA and Kristin Marie Garner, most recently of South Windsor, CT formerly of Wilmington, NC.
Those who share the loss of a wife and mother are her five grandchildren, Patrick R. Finn, Allison E. Finn, Danielle "Dani" K. Finn, Levi M. Garner and Victoria Grace "Tori" Garner; her brother and sister-in-laws George and Joan Jahrstorfer of South Windsor, CT, Ruth and Ron Lehrach of Glastonbury, CT; 21 cousins of the LaRussa and Pellegrino families as well as dozens of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Pat worshiped God, loved his son Jesus Christ, believed in the salvation of mankind and walked ( to her best understanding) the Bible, trusting in the power of the Holy Spirit daily, to guide her into the truth of His Word. Pat also loved music, playing the guitar, singing, sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking, memorizing scripture, reading Christian novels, and decorating.
Pat was born in Brooklyn, NY June 20, 1943 the daughter of the late Nancy Anna (Pellegrino) LaRussa and Pasquale Joseph LaRussa. She taught in the NYC public School System and worked for several small businesses. Enterprising and creative, Pat had a three dimensional vision in seeing a completed project before it was ever started. A great cook, seamstress, writer and reader, Pat's wonder, wisdom and wit enlightened and encouraged us all. Her innate gift of stringing words together like pearls on a strand brought great insight of Biblical truths into people's lives. Pat was an exhorter and mentor to many women. Her beauty, frankness, and honesty brought us joy, peace, deep understanding of a biblical truth, or tears of wonder. We will always remember her infectious laugh! Free to be Pat!
A Christian Celebration of Pat's life will be held on Saturday April 14, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Elim Park Baptist Home, 140 Cook Hill Road, in Nelson Hall. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours. The family strongly encourages memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to Elim Park designated for the Pat Jahrstorfer Celebration Fund. For every gift of $25.00, the family will provide a free book of Pat's messages of her 8 month journey with Carcinosarcoma. The book is a collection of her writings revealing her wonder, wisdom and wit. You will find hope for your trials and be encouraged by her deep insight into spiritual truths. You will laugh and cry as she shares her intimate battle with pain and suffering. Most of all, you will find that God loves and sustains you. He lifts you up and brings you to the victory side with Jesus holding your hand as He did with Patricia Ann.'
