CHESHIRE- After a long battle with respiratory illness, Patricia (Hanlon) Dean died on October 5, 2019, at home in Cheshire, Connecticut.
Born November 17, 1939 to Thomas F. Hanlon and Anna (MacDonald) Hanlon of Dedham, MA, she was the beloved mother of James P. Dean, Jr, of Manchester, NH; Philip J. Dean; Sean. P. Dean and his wife Lucy Diaz of Meriden, CT; and Steven T. Dean of Revere Beach, MA, and his former wife Lori Bistis of Cambridge, MA; and the doting grandmother to Josiah Diaz-Cregan, Mateo Dean, Benicio Dean, and Ryan Dean. She was the eldest of nine children, including Sue Kronmiller, Ronald Hanlon, Joseph Hanlon, Nancy Lyons, and Mark Hanlon, and the late Thomas Hanlon Jr, Paul Hanlon, and Carl Hanlon. She was the widow of the James P. Dean, Sr, but her true love (albeit unrequited) was Tom Brady of Foxboro, MA.
Coming from a long line of athletes, she loved playing and watching sports. In particular, she loved the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruins and could never understand why all the referees were out to get them. Beyond sports, she loved her crossword puzzles, mocha chip ice cream from Howard Johnson’s, and Jujy Fruits. Later in life, her grandchildren brought her great joy as did her trips to Ireland and California and the whiskey and wine she enjoyed along the way. She was a fighter with a generous heart and will be missed dearly.
Arrangements- Services for Mrs. Dean will be private. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410 is assisting the family with the arrangements.
