Patricia Ann Collins

Patricia Ann Collins, 86, of Cheshire, beloved wife of 65 years to George E. Collins, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2024 with her entire family by her side. Patricia was born on December 2, 1937, in Waterbury, CT to the late Patrick and Mary Murphy.

Patricia enjoyed sewing and knitting and made sure that all her children and grandchildren had sweaters, hats, scarves and other handmade items. She loved music, singing and dancing to rock n roll, playing tennis, crafting, swimming, antiquing and reading, especially poetry. Above all hobbies and activities, Patricia loved taking care of her husband, her children, her grandchildren and many others, treating all guests as members of her family. As a family, they enjoyed summers at the beach in Hotchkiss Grove, winters skiing in Vermont and spending quality time together.

In addition to her husband, George, Patricia leaves behind her children, Tricia Collins Daigle, George Collins, Jr., Kathleen Collins, Brenda Collins, Charlie (Molly) Collins and Kerry Collins Spagnuolo; grandchildren, Kerry Shafer, Patrick and Mary Daigle, Meagan, Brendan and Aidan Collins, Bridget Collins, Cassidy and Kailey Collins, and Carmine, Christopher, Marco and Marla Spagnuolo; great grandson, Casey Collins and another great grandchild due in the fall; and sister, Mary Ellen Griffin. Besides her parents, Patricia was predeceased by her brothers, Charles, Joseph and Billy Murphy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Bridget of Sweden Parish/St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St., Cheshire, CT. Burial will follow at St. Bridget Cemetery, Higgins Rd., Cheshire, CT. Memorial contributions may be made to: Thriving Blind Academy to support blind people and their families.
