Patricia Barbieri

Patricia Eleanor Barbieri, age 70, of Cheshire passed away on September 6, 2013 after a long illness with her loving family by her side at New Britain General Hospital. She is the devoted wife of Joseph C. Barbieri. Patricia was born in Waterbury on April 12, 1943, daughter of the late John and Edna Miller Biggins.

Patricia worked for Waterbury Farrel for close to 15 years in the Administration Department and that is where she met her true love Joe and he scooped her up. Later, she had worked at the Cheshire Stop & Shop in the Deli Department, until her retirement in 2007, when she took on her new job as Grandmother to twins. Patricia loved to cook and garden and was an avid reader, she loved spending time with her family and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is the loving mother of Jason Barbieri of Middletown, and Jennifer Smith and her husband James of Naugatuck. Patricia also leaves her cherished grandchildren Violet and Rowan Smith, and is survived by her sisters; Elaine Moquin of Southington, Kathy Biggins of Cheshire and Alice Taber of Bristol. She is predeceased by her brother George Biggins.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 10AM at the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 So. Main St., Cheshire, CT 06410. Interment will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Friends may greet the family at the funeral home on Monday, September 9, 2013 from 4PM to 7PM.
