CHESHIRE - Patricia A. Wallinger, 81, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at her home. She was the wife of Arthur “Butch” Wallinger.
Mrs. Wallinger was born August 6, 1939, in Waterbury, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Reid) Hanlon. From the age of 9 to the age of 20 Patricia was an aspiring actress. While acting at Litchfield Summer Stock the press called her “Broadway bound “. She was a long-time resident of Cheshire. Pat and Butch (husband), together, side by side, owned and managed AJ Carting Company Inc. for approximately 30 years. She loved her gardens and was a long-time member of the Cheshire Garden Club. Those who knew Pat would call her; Mema, Patsy, Boss and Warden. She was strong, smart, loving, feisty caring and beautiful.
Besides her husband of 60 years, Pat is survived by her son A.J. Wallinger and his wife Debra of Cheshire; her daughter Bonnie Wallinger and her husband John McDonald of Cheshire; her grandchildren Jimmy and Christopher Greene, Jake, Hannah and Sam Wallinger, and Jack McDonald. In addition to her parents, Pat is predeceased by her brother Edward Hanlon.
Arrangements – Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 5 to 7 pm at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 1, 2021 with her funeral procession leaving the funeral home at 9:30 and proceeding to St. Bridget of Sweden Parish-St. Bridget Church for Mass at 10 am. Burial will be held at St. Bridget Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
