Zoraida G. Parmelee passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Masonicare Health Facility in Wallingford, CT at age 78 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Zoraida was born on April 10, 1939 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and moved to West Haven, CT to raise her family. She loved the water and could be found situated by the ocean for most of her life. Zoraida is remembered by her daughters as an avid gardener and animal lover, significant of her passion for life, along with her love of cooking and entertaining friends and family.
Zoraida will be dearly missed by her three daughters, Karen Hotham and spouse Ralph Hotham Sr., Donna Thomas and spouse Warren Thomas, and Michelle Healy and spouse Michael Healy. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Ralph Hotham Jr. and spouse Ashley Hotham, Michael Thomas, Scott Thomas, Megan Thomas, Mikayla Healy, Brian Healy, Benjamin Healy, Kevin Healy, and Jack Healy.
All services are private and there are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
