Loving Mother and Grandmother
Prospect-Georgianna M. (Goudreault) Parenteau, lost her fight against cancer on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the age of 72. Born July 13, 1941, daughter of the late Roaul and Adeline Goudreault.
Gee Gee was a lifelong resident of Prospect. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Parenteau. She retired from Bradlees Department store after 31 years employment. Her love of children led her to volunteering at Andrew Avenue Elementary School in Naugatuck for over 10 years in Patti Lynn’s kindergarten class. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and traveling.
She is survived by one sister, Judith Coughlin and her husband Terrance of New Hampshire. She leaves behind three daughters and one son: Cheryl Cooper and her husband Charlie of Stephens City, Virginia; Sandra Cook and her husband Jim of Marion; Susan Yammine and her husband Edmond of Southbury; and Father Raymond Cook, OMI of Belleville, Illinois. She also leaves 3 nieces and one nephew: Frances Clark of Torrington; Terrance Coughlin of Rhode Island; Mary Waldron and Theresa Phair of New Hampshire. She cherished her six grandchildren: Robert, Janine, Michael and Crista Lucisano and Amanda Golymbieski and her fiancée Frank Solla, and Thomas Golymbieski. Finally, ten great-grandchildren: Nicole, Austin, Donavin, Marena, Bria, Mackenzie, Landon, and Marcus. In addition she leaves behind Tom Marino whom she spent time with in Florida and two loving, devoted friends Ann April and Sandy Schaff, who visited her daily as she made her final journey in life.
She was predeceased by her great-granddaughter Brianna.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Rd, Rte. 69, Prospect from 5-7 p.m. A Catholic Burial mass will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, 4 Union City Rd, Prospect. Friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
