Middlebury - Mr. Manuel Antonio DaSilva Paiva, age 60, of 286 Shadduck Road, died Tuesday February 2,2010 at his home after a brief illness. He was the husband of Maria Angelina (Tavares) (DaSilva) Paiva.

Mr. Paiva was born in Murtosa, Portugal on May 8,1949 a son of the late Jose Maria and Maria daAssuncao Silva Paiva. He was a self employed home improvement contractor and was also the co-owner of Paiva's Liquors in Naugatuck with his wife. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Waterbury and was a member of the Portuguese Clubs of Naugatuck and Waterbury and the Naugatuck Hunting and Fishing Club.

Besides his wife, Mr. Paiva is survived by three sons: George Paiva and his wife Tracie of Milford, Daniel Paiva and his wife Nina of Middlebury and Roger Paiva of Tampa, Florida, two sisters: Emilia Graca of Portugal and Rosa Neves of Montreal, Canada, two brothers: Enrique Paiva of Portugal and Jose Paiva of Naugatuck, two grandchildren: John Paul Paiva and Adrianna Paiva and several nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters in law. He was predeceased by a brother: Joao Paiva.

The funeral will be held on Friday February 5,2010 at 9:15 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home 82 Fairview Ave. Naugatuck to Our Lady of Fatima Church 2071 Baldwin St. Waterbury for a mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday February 4,2010 from 5 to 8 p.m.
