Naugatuck-Raymond F. (Rambo) Ollero,aka, Brush and the ambassador of Naugatuck, 63, of 72 Hickory Rd, husband of Bette (Gay) Ollero passed away on Monday, October 18, 2010 at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Ollero was born on March 14, 1947 in Waterbury, a son of the late Leonard and Catherine (Angiolillo) Ollero. He was a former employee of Murtha's Trucking, Friehoffers Shipping Dept for over 17 years and most recently a Custodian at Naugatuck High School for eight years. He was a graduate of Hop Brook School and Naugatuck High School, Class of 1966. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served with Company C 31st Combat Engineering Battalion. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed his vegetable gardening and a was a huge sports fan, routing for NY Yankees, Boston Celtics and Notre Dame Football.
Besides his wife of Naugatuck he is survived by one son, Mark F. Ollero of Torrington and his fiancée Jolene Beaudoin of Prospect, one brother, John J. Ollero and his wife Barbara of Waterbury, two uncles Charles Angiolillo and Francis Angiolillo both of Naugatuck, his brother in law, Bruce Gay of Long Island, NY, 2 special cousins, Tom & Karen Guardiani and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his brother, Leonard J. Ollero, Sr.
A military funeral will be held on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave, Naugatuck to St. Vincent Ferrer Church for a mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial with full military honors will be in St. James Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5-8 p.m.
The Naugatuck Veterans Council will meet at the funeral home at 7:15 p.m.
